Check the following:
1) Check the layout of the compartment.
2) Lids should stay locked in the open position. And locks should be solid and tough.
3) Examine if it has well-designed edges. The leather on the handle's edges should separate. Make sure the edge color does not rub off and all the edges are neat and closely sewn.
4) Pay attention to handles. Handles should be soft enough for comfort, yet firm to keep its shape. Check if it has a crossbar. The crossbar won't easily pull through when the case is full and heavy.
