Vacationing or just any travel with pets has become easier than ever. Yet there are still many things you need to take into consideration.
Here are some tips that might help.

I. General consideration before the trip
1. Check the pertinent regulations of different transportation modes on pet travel.

2. Consult vet about how to keep your pet healthy and what additional vaccination need to be injected according to traveling situation.

3. Examine the health condition of your pet to see if it is suitable for travel.

4. Remember to bring necessary up-to-date medical records, vaccination certificates and other important travel documents of your pet.

5. Pack some pet-loved items such as toys to offer pet comfort. Bring some necessary medicine and tools in first aid kit for your pet (e.g. gauze and medicine for heartworm) to tackle accidental injuries. Don't forget to take suitable collar & leashes or kennel for dog and carrier for cat.

6. Make sure you and your pet are on the same flight. If not, hire the special company to ensure the transfer of the pet.

7. Don't give the pet a rich meal before boarding or driving.

8. Bring enough water for you and your pet. Drink water at regular intervals (usu. 2-4 hours) to fight against dehydration and thirsty. Don't forget to bring a special container for your pet to use.

9. If possible, travel with your pet at off-season to escape from the crowd. Try to avoid traveling with pet in terrible weather.

10. Be certain that the destination has professional animal hospitals or vets.

11. Book pet-friendly hotels. Some hotels prohibit pets. In order to keep away from unnecessary trouble, ask details to see if there is constraint on pet.

12. Bring a photo of your pet in case it went lost.

13. Check if the pet are accepted at your destination.

II. Professional advice for travel by road
1. Open your car window for air ventilation if condition allows.

2. Stop your car every 2 or 3 hours for the relaxation of you and your pet.

3. Try to avoid leaving your pet alone in the car so it will not be stolen by thief or become sick because of abrupt change of temperature.

4. It is unsafe for you and your dog to put heads out of the window.

5. Place a cloth or blanket under your pet to keep the car clean.

6. If your pet has car-sickness, bring garbage bag and portable cleaning tools.

7. Feed your pet several times a day with small quantity each time.

III. Comprehensive instruction for air travel
1. Choose direct flight to ward off mistaken transfer.

2. Put ID tag with all your contact information on the collar of the pet.

3. If the pet is small enough, you can take it along with you. If not, put them in a suitable carrier and remind flight attendant that you have pet in the cargo to protect it from bad injuries.
Hang an obvious sign on the carrier for distinguishing.

4. When the plane lands, you'd better check the healthy condition of your pet immediately. If necessary, take it to the nearest animal hospital.
