Although you have made a full preparation for your long-awaited travel, the unexpected may still knock on the door before you set off.
For example, you might receive a notice form college, saying that you have to attend a special and important exam, or you might receive a task arrangement, which you have to finish in the next two days. 3. Your boss cancels your holiday because of the approaching task or unsettled problems.

4. Your travel agency, tour operator or transportation company breaks down overnight.

B. Subjective restriction

1. Your medical condition deteriorates suddenly.

2. You are mistakenly considered as a suspect by the police.

3. You or your family member or travel companion is not available because of illnesses, injuries or deceases.

4. Your house is unfortunately damaged. You should take the soul-destroying responsibility to deal the mess with government or court.

5. You lose important travel documents such as passports or visas.

II. Travel cancellation and refund policy
Travelers should be responsible for cancellation or interruption of the travel. Before canceling, discussion and consultation with travel agent, travel insurer or airline is paramount.

All the travel reservations should be prepaid with cash or credit card to complete reservation. A cancellation of your trip causes a loss of partial or all of your prepaid trip expenses. Any cancellation of travel arrangements translates extra charges. And that charge varies among different tour operators, airlines, cruise lines or insurance companies. For example, at European Travel Guide, you should pay at least 28.2 dollars for the full cost of a single stay (require 14 days-earlier payment after tour confirmation).

Refunds are generally processed by bank account transfers. In most cases, you will be charged a transfer handling fee. Usually, there is no refund for some accommodation services like hotel nights.

There are services offered by travel agents to help people who feel uncertain about the travel schedule. It is like insurance. You buy those services in case you want to cancel the travel. You can get full refund back under those plans.

B. Advice for your purchase of trip cancellation insurance

1. Look for as detailed information as you can from the Internet, experts or friends on price-comparison and service-differentiation. Choose the right insurance policy according to your own traveling style and transportation difference.

2. Buy as early as you can in order to ease the complexity of operation and get the full refund of unforeseen cancellation.

3. Read conditions of insurance with extra attention. Watch out for special clauses, for instance, the exclusion terms and rebook conditions. Take note of the expiration date to ensure that the insurance is effective during the whole traveling period.

4. Some companies don't pay the refund if you buy tickets through a third party or from the Internet. Pay attention to those rules as well.
