Cruise is one of the most luxurious, enjoyable, stimulating and romantic ways of vacationing.
I. The service coverage
1. Sightseeing
During a cruise, you can enjoy wonderful ocean scenery, coastline, remote straits and more. Every day you arrive at a different place and see different sceneries on the ship.
2. Meals
One of the most appealing points of cruise is the cuisine on board. Meals, snacks and various kinds of treat are served almost everywhere at anytime on a cruise ship.
3. Entertainment
Entertainment facilities and activities include beauty salon and spa, nightclubs, swimming pools, dancing, shows, sauna, gym, gambling etc.
4. Accommodation
The staterooms provided on many ships are of five- star- hotel standard with 24-hour room service.
II. The rate/ cost of a cruise
When on a cruise, neither do you need to travel with haste carrying your baggage, nor to frequently change hotels, you don't even have to pay extra fees for your food and drinks. First timers may ask: how much will a cruise travel cost? Well, the cost of a cruise is decided by several factors:
1. Where you plan to travel: Prices vary according to different destinations and itineraries. Popular itineraries are Hawaii, Alaska, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
2. What types of cabin you like: The most inexpensive ones are those small, interior cabins without windows. Outside cabins such as suites and cabins are pricier, but they have balcony and patio in which you can fully enjoy the beautiful sea and coastline views. Booking in advance ensures that you get the best stateroom, and maybe a considerable discount as well.
3. What kind of ship you like: Cruise ships vary in sizes. Some carry only 10 people, while a mega ship carries over 3,000. Some people choose large ships that provide a lot of amenities such as entertainment facilities and on-board activities. Others prefer smaller ships with optional ports of call and casual clothing and dining styles.
4. Which cruise line you choose: Different cruise lines feature particular styles, prices, amenities and activities. Carnival cruises are family-friendly, Royal Caribbean is energetic with superior sporting facilities, Norwegian is popular for its casual clothing and dining atmosphere, and Crystal is more upscale.
5. Time of year you choose to cruise: May to September (when children are not in school) is the peak season of cruise. Choose a shoulder season to avoid the crowd as well as the higher cruise rate.
6. How many days you will cruise: The length of a cruise can be as short as 2 days, or last for several months around the world.
A cruise is advertised "all inclusive". However, this does not mean there is no extra expense. The price you pay for a cruise usually includes the sea transportation, your cabin, all meals and snacks, all shows, entertainment and all facilities on board. Port charges, airfare to and from the departing port, alcohol are usually not included.
