Packing for highway travel is an art. Annoyance and helplessness is of no use.
I. Packing tips for solo road travelers
Pack light. A pleasant trip may become torturous if you have too heavy burden.
Don't wear too formal. Just wear comfortable and flexible clothes. But don't make yourself look too dirty or strange.
Make sure you have brought important travel documents such as passports and visas and daily necessities such as toiletries and toothbrush.
II. Family road travel packing skills
Bring all the necessary documents, especially the documents of your children.
Pack children-loved items or prepare some activities to ease discomfort in the journey.
Prepare enough clean water to drink because you don't know if the water is suitable to drink on the way.
Bring healthy snacks or home-made food for your children.
Choose clothes according to the weather of your destination. Pack specific clothes to tackle sudden temperature change.
It is necessary to have a map or a GPS device in case you get lost.
Don't forget to bring first aid kit including some common medicine, gauge and more to deal with accidental injuries.
If you do not want to be too hurry, prepare all the packing several days before your trip.
III. Car travel notice
A full examination of your car and its operation systems is a must before heading off.
Before leaving, consult travel agent, friends or family members if there are any interesting or special places to visit. You can seek information on the Internet as well.
Be familiar with traditions and regulations at your destination, especially for women travelers because some countries may have special customs about women's clothes and behavior.
If you are unfamiliar with the route to your destination, remember to take a map or install a vehicle GPS device on your car.
Prepare quarts of oil if you are not sure whether there are gas stations on the way.
If necessary, make sure that every travel companion has one set of car keys.
Bring adequate drinking water to resist thirsty.
Have enough sleep before long trips, and it is better to share driving with your companies in order to take a break during long time driving.
IV. Bicycle travel tips
Communicate with former adventures to learn some tips.
Make full preparation. For example, it's good to plan your route, choose the right bike and decide daily distance before heading off.
Do some riding exercises to make sure you are strong enough to endure fatigue and long-time ride.
Check all the operation systems of your bike as carefully as possible. It is better for you to go to a bicycle repairing place to examine.
Pack light and simple. Too much stuff only causes too heavy burden.
Wear comfortable clothes that won't constrain your riding. Pack clothes according to the weather and season, for example, you should bring rainsuit for rainy days and thick sweater in cold weather.
Bring guide books, maps, or GPS if you are unfamiliar with the route.
Take cell phone or other communication tools with you, and make sure that your communication tool has enough electrical quantities.
Pack some accessories and repairing tools in your bag such as chain tool, tire levels and screwdriver in the event of sudden breakdown of your bicycle.
Have a healthy diet during your trip. Avoid eating greasy food.
Be flexible in your trip. If you can enjoy more beautiful view, why not change your route?
