Tips for Family Train Travel and Events

It is very pleasant for a family to take a train travel.
In fact, most kids love traveling by trains. There is much more room in trains than in buses or cars, and kids wouldn't feel limited. They can play, walk, sleep, and even run in the train. But there are also many details and events that we should pay attention to during family train travel.

I. Before the travel
Before your family train travel, you have to prepare many things. Some people may complain that they don't know where to begin. Well, here are some tips.

In order to keep kids calm and quiet during the travel, you'd better bring some interesting toys, tasty snacks, and favorite games. If not, they may make enough noise to annoy you. When traveling with a little kid, make sure to take feeding-bottles, fresh milk, enough diaper and the like. Don't forget to take some necessary medicine.

Kids under 5 years old can be charged free for traveling, with the protection of their parents. If they are older than 5, but younger than 16, they may get a free GMPTE in order to buy much cheaper tickets for traveling.

Choose the shortest and most direct route in order to avoid the trouble of changing trains. It will definitely reduce the chances of losing luggage or missing the next train.

Traveling at night or buying bunk tickets will be a good idea to kill time in a long travel. In fact, most people, especially kids, like sleeping in bunks.

Try to reserve a seat beside a window, so you and your loved ones can enjoy the beautiful scenery outside the window.

II. When on the travel
Make sure to arrive at the train station a little earlier, at least one hour before the train's departure. Check your luggage and get familiar with the station, find out where the entrance is.

Do not leave kids playing alone, make sure to supervise them all the time, especially when in the restroom.

Tell your kids what they should be aware of, what they should do and what they should not do. For example, they should respect other passengers, not speak loudly on the train, etc. Tell them to sit well as soon as they find their seats.

In the evening or the early morning, try to keep your kids silent, because during that time most passengers are sleeping.

Do not let your kids eat too much food, and try to avoid fast food.

III. Some tips for safety concern
Tell your kids some basic safety knowledge on the train such as: do not get close to wheels or stand in front of the train, how to use some emergency braking systems or emergency exit, etc.

Never allow your kids to leave their seats alone or go away with strangers.

Ask your kids not to put their hands outside the bed if they are sleeping on the upper bunks.

When embarking and disembarking, the entrance is usually crowded; you'd better pay close attention to both your luggage and your kids.

When your train is going to stop or beginning to leave, do not hold hot water in hands so as to avoid any potential danger.
