Laptop has become an important role in our daily life, which makes the lost and damage of laptop a disaster. The number of laptop thefts who want to access to the confidential data and information is also climbing.
This kind of significant threat to the laptop formed the specific laptop insurances.

Policies Covered
Many of them covers the four basic issues: water damage, theft, international cover and accidental damage. In terms of being stolen, you are going to care about two insurance policies: theft and international cover. Many of the insurance companies provide up to £2,500 ($5,000) cover (platinum) with a monthly premium of £10. Also, executive, gold and premier policies are available to choose. (these names may differ in different companies). These policies respectively cover any laptop of up to a retail value of approximately £1000, £1250 and £1,500.

Things to Notice
Pay attention to the contract period. A lot of insurance companies don't offer 12 month contract. So if you just want a several-month insurance, the company won't sign the contract with you.

Another key issue you should care about is what the insurance company doesn't cover in the terms and conditions.
Take Theft policy from 2U Insurance for an example, the following situations are not covered in Theft policy: theft from any commercial vehicle, convertible or soft top vehicle; from your control or the control of any member of your immediate family, except where it has been concealed either on or about the person and not left unattended, or the use of physical force or violence against the person has been used or threatened; where reasonable precautions have not been taken and so on. There are another six terms that are restricted here. Make sure it is suitable for you before you choose any of these insurance policies.
