Whittacker Alpine and Whittaker Soloist
Designed by Jim Whittaker, JanSport Whittaker Alpine and Whittaker Soloist daypacks boast comfortable padding, durable material and plenty of storage. These packs are perfect for a quick summit attempt, and can serve as a great crag/ light alpine pack for everyday use.

Whittaker Alpine and Whittaker Soloist are made of tough, lightweight VX07 Sailcloth/ 840 Denier Junior Ballistic for rugged durability. They both have sufficient pockets and compartments to accommodate your gear. And the curved AirLift™ padded shoulder straps plus fully padded, adjustable hipbelt ensure plenty of cushioning comfort.

Whittaker Alpine has a capacity of 2200.0 cu in (36.1L), while Whittaker Soloist's capacity is 1800 cu in (29.5L).

Odyssey
JanSport Odyssey is a large volume daypack. It features compression straps, expandable mesh pockets, and shoulder straps with AirLift for weight distribution. The Odyssey, like many other JanSport backpacks, comes with many handy pockets and slots for almost anything that you're carrying.

Many users of Odyssey say that the JanSport Odyssey is probably the best backpack they have ever used-it is comfortable, durable, almost weightless, and large enough to carry a lot of gear. The cons, according to the reviews, are the loading system and sternum strap removal. Odyssey is a panel loading internal frame pack, meaning the back of the pack is supported by an aluminum frame rather than an external one.

JanSport Odyssey is highly recommended to those who need a pack for travel, school, or the trail. At around $100, this pack is definitely not cheap, but most users find it worth the price.

JanSport Agave
JanSport Agave Trail Pack is another highly recommended daypack from JanSport. Owners say they like Agave because it has good padding, large capacity, and is very adjustable.
The compression/ sternum straps plus waistband mean you can really load it up without getting unbalanced. The two main compartments work great for books and laptops. The small pocket on top is perfect for wallet, phone, etc. The hang loops on the back are also very useful.

JanSport Agave is good for day trip, short-distance hiking, school, and travel. And at a reasonable price of around $50, it's a good value.
