Planning a trip to India? You have a long list to prepare: documents, schedule, maps, clothes, toiletry, personal electronics, accessories... yes, and travel bags! Before packing for your trip, there is one thing you can't afford forgetting - your airline luggage allowance. Most people choose Air India Flight. So here we'll discuss the luggage policy of Air India Flight.

The hand luggage is limited to one piece weighing no more than 8kgs, applying to all classes of travel and flights. Considering the size of the overhead rack, hand luggage's dimensions should not exceed 115 cm (45 inches).

The weights of free checked Air India luggage for each class of travel are 40 kgs (first class), 30 kg (business class) and 20kg (economy class). Regardless of the class of travel, every passenger is allowed to take 2 pieces of checked luggage and each piece's dimensions must not exceed 158 cms (62 inches). For first/business class travelers, the weight of each bag should not exceed 32 kg (70 lbs), while for economy class passengers, the weight of each bag must not exceed 23 kg (50 lbs) and the dimensions of two pieces should not exceed 273 cm (107inches). This weight policy is only applied to all flights to/from US and Canada. To ensure that your luggage can be successfully checked, measure your existent luggage set or purchase proper sized bags according to the airline luggage policy. As Air India only allows one piece of carry-on luggage, a well-designed backpack or rolling case with generous pocket design is your necessity. And make sure that your checked bag is made of light-weight material and constructed strongly to endure dumps and drops.
