Antique Trunk Tells History

Antique trunks, full of mystery and charming elements, still enjoy wide popularity in this modern world.
Most of these gorgeous old trunks date from 1600's - early 1900's. Made with different patterns, details and designs, antique trunks tell the history.

Animal hide- or leather- covered old trunks can be traced back to 1600's. They are fastened by lots of small brass tacks. They always feature leather-trimmed edging, dust banding and forged metal carrying handles. These trunks wear quite well over time and have elegant appearance.

Stagecoach trunks go back from 1840 to 1875. Instead of animal hide covering and leather trim, antiquetrunk in this period is often made with oil cloth, tooled or inked leather, or paper. Its appearance is accentuated by bigger brass-covered button. You will be deeply impressed by this kind of antique trunks when you see them at the first sight.

From 1870 to 1920, dome top trunks soared in popularity. They are in a myriad of sizes and styles. Their round top slopes in either direction. Constructed with molding structures like barrel molding or other kinds of structures, old trunks made during this time always have more details than the above-mentioned two and look more eye-catching.
