Greece Airlines Forbidden Items - What You Can’t Carry On

Packing right can make a great vacation. If you're traveling by air, you should know what you can't carry on. This article lists the Greece airline forbidden items to avoid any inconvenience.

1. Prohibited Items in Hand Luggage
For safety reasons, dangerous articles such as those listed below may not be taken into the security restricted area or the passenger cabin of the aircraft:

Guns & Other Weapons
Weapons and in general any item which is or might appear to be capable of firing a projectile or causing injury, such as: parts of firearms, replicas and imitations of weapons such as toy air guns or any kind of pistols or pellet guns, launchers of any kind, harpoon guns or any device designed to immobilize or administer electric shock.

Sharp & Pointed Weapons
Pointed or sharp objects of any kind or material capable of causing injury, such as: penknives, stilettos, knives, axes, arrows, scalpels, scissors, ski and walking/hiking poles or any other professional or working tools which might serve as pointed or sharp-edged weapons.

Blunt Objects
Any blunt instrument capable of causing injury, such as: sporting bats, clubs, canes and rackets of any kind, oars, billiard cues, fishing rods, martial arts equipment (knuckle dusters, clubs, coshes, rice flails, num chucks, kubatons, kubasaunts).

2. Dangerous Items Banned in Luggage
Passengers should respect the ban on carrying the materials and substances listed below, which might cause irreparable damage to safety.

Explosive and Flammable Materials
Any explosive or highly flammable material which might endanger the health of passengers and crew or the safety, in all respects, of the aircraft or personal items carried thereon. Some examples of items in this category would include: any kind of ammunition or munitions or related mechanisms, gases and gas containers, flammable liquid fuels, any kind of firework (including party poppers and toy caps), paint containers and materials, drinks with an alcohol content exceeding 70%, acetone, etc.

Chemical and Toxic Substances
Any chemical or toxic substance which might endanger the health of passengers and crew, or the safety of the aircraft or personal items carried on board, such as: acids and alkalis, corrosive or bleaching substances, disabling or incapacitating sprays, radioactive materials (e.g. isotopes for medical or commercial use), poisons, infectious or biologically hazardous materials, e.g. contaminated blood, bacteria and viruses, and material capable of spontaneous ignition or combustion.

By comparison, we list Olympic Airlines' prohibited articles. These dangerous items must not be carried in passenger's checked-baggage or carry-on items.

Olympic Airlines Prohibited Articles
Compressed gases: deeply refrigerated, flammable, non flammable and poisonous.
Corrosives: such as acids, alkalis, mercury and wet cell batteries.
Explosives: munitions, fireworks, flares, handguns, pistol caps, ammunition including blank cartridges.
Flammable liquids and solids: such as lighter fuel, matches, paints, thinners.
Radioactive materials.
Briefcases and attach cases with installed alarm devices.
Oxidizing materials.
Poisons and infectious substances.
Other dangerous articles, such as magnetized material, offensive or irritating materials.
