Always check the detailed information of bag materials, straps, ventilation, capacity, weight and special features whenever you purchase a bag for sports.
1. Size
The size of your bag is determined by your sport gear. For example, if you are planning to join a football match at college, you should prepare the football clothes and shoes beforehand. A medium sized sports bag with a shoe compartment is a good choice. If you are attending a swimming club, you need to pack your swimming suit and other small necessities. You can stop at the small sized swimming bags made of waterproof materials.
2. Style
Here, the style means the way your bag is carried. Are you going to carry it on shoulders or with hands? There are many different types of sports bags and several different carrying methods. One of the most popular sports bags is the shoulder bag. Of course, you can buy hand-held bags, waist packs, and even rolling bags with wheels. Anyway, think carefully about whether the carrying style suits you.
3. Materials and weight
A durable and light-weight bag will last long. Thus, your first choice should always be ripstop nylon or nylon pack cloth, since they are excellent for making durable bags and packs. You should also make sure that those frequently used parts are reinforced and patched. Don't forget to double check and see if your next bag provides good ventilation system, such as breathable fabric and specially designed back panels.
4. Straps and padding
Make sure that your straps and belts are all well-padded, especially when you are going to carry your bag or backpack for a long time, an 8 hours' trekking for example. Ergonomically designed straps will distribute the weight equally and bring you the feeling that you are carrying something not as heavy as it actually is. A terribly designed and/or manufactured straps and belts will cause both physical and mental harms.
5. Wheels
If your sports bag is wheeled, such as golf bags, you may want to test out the wheeling ability of your luggage before you purchase it. You can ask the salesperson for heavy items to weigh down the bag and get a feeling of how it rolls when packed.
