While considering packing ideas for your laptop backpack, you should know that it is the second piece of luggage you are permitted to carry onboard an airplane.
Most airlines have restrictions on the size of the luggage you carry on board. International travelers in particular would do well to keep their luggage in sight during the process of screening at airports. If you have more than one hand baggage, make sure that your laptop backpack is the second to go on the screening conveyor so that you are at the other end when the backpack is delivered.

Packing your laptop backpacks

While packing your laptop backpack, you have two major issues to address. One is the weight that you would finally end up with, the other being the safety of your laptop. Ahead of anything else, it is important to label your laptop and affix a business card. This will prevent a potential loss or even an unintended exchange by co-passengers.

If you are carrying extra books and documents take care not to pile them along with the laptop. Instead, you can spread them out evenly which will also provide additional protection to your laptop. An identification tag with your contact information should be attached to all your luggage including the laptop backpack. Loaded cameras and raw film can be packed into the laptop backpack if space permits. This should however, never be packed in the check in baggage since x-ray can damage the films.

Packing gifts

If gifts need be carried, you can wrap them up just before delivery to the recipient. Remember that wrapped gifts may be subjected to inspection. Personal belongings are best placed in transparent plastic so that a TSA screening is not necessitated.

Art of packing

Finally, we come to the art of packing for a trip.
Often times, we end up carrying too many things back and forth without ever using them throughout the trip. When you can find quality time, it would be a great idea to assemble all the items that you intend carrying with you and then review the need for those items during the trip. Can you substitute some of the toiletry packs with sample pouches? Are there notes or books which you can possibly carry on a pen drive or CD? Is your laptop essential during the trip, or can you do with a few CDs? These are some of the questions for which you will have to find the answers.
