How to choose guitar cases

You may get a case when buying a guitar. But if there is not, or your guitar cases have broken, you have to find a new one.
There are many famous brands for guitar cases, SKB, TKL and Gator for instance. If you decide to purchase a case now, read the buying tips below:

- Step 1 Measure the size of your guitar

Of course you should know the exact size of the guitar before choosing a case. There is no standard size for guitars so you have to measure by yourself, including lower bout, waist, upper bout, length and neck. Check the tag of your guitar, there may be the size already printed on it.

- Step 2 Choose the brand

First check whether the brand of your guitar manufactures guitar cases. If they just make guitars, you have to browse online to find a suitable guitar case. Famous guitar case brands include Gibson, Gator, SKB and TKL.

- Step 3 Decide the type

There are two types of guitar cases, hard and soft. The hardside cases are much more expensive for its durability and water resistance, while the softside ones are cheaper with a larger capacity. For example, a SKB hard-shell guitar case costs at least $200, but a soft case is just $99-$120.
