How to remove stains from the collar of shirts?

Cotton shirts

Shirts made of either 100% pure cotton or cotton blends do get stains on the collar easily. The stains are smelly and ugly. How to remove them? Simple steps would help you remove the stubborn stains on the collar easily.

- Prepare a vinegar and salt solution. Get an appropriate proportion of vinegar and salt water.

- Put the shirts in the diluted solution. You're recommended to immerse the collar into the water for 30 minutes to one hour. Let the water resolve the stains completely.

- Wash the collar in cold water. After taking the shirts out of the solution water, wash the shirts with clod water. Make sure the stains are completely removed.

After removing the stains on the collar, you can get the cotton shirts cleaned as usual.

Silk shirts

Silk is the most vintage material for shirts, which in turn needs some special care, esp. for the stains. Treat the stains on the collar immediately, or the stains might damage the silk shirts. Be careful when removing the stains.

- Apply a stain removal pen. You'd better use a stain removal pen first to get rid of the stains on the collar. Dab the pen at the stains gently. If it doesn't work, turn to the next step.

- Wash the collar by hand. If the stains are really stubborn, try to wash the shirts with professional detergent for silk. Remember to wash by hand lightly.

Dry the shirts. Silk shirts cannot be put in the sunshine directly. Hang shirts in a cool place.
