How to take care of silk shirts?

Silk shirts are the symbol of elegance and quality, which usually come not cheap.
Silk shirts require special care to maintain its shape and color as well since silk tends to distort and fade easily.

- Proper cleaning

Silk shirts cannot be rubbed against rough items, which do great harm to the silk. You're recommended to wash the silk shirts by hand, instead of putting them into a washer machine. Apply some professional detergent used for silks to some cold water and immerse the silk shirts into the water for 5 to 10 minutes. Then rub the shirt gently and rinse the shirt again and again to make sure the detergents are washed away totally. Do not wring out the shirts.

- Appropriate drying

Silk shirts should be kept away from direct sunshine. You can hang your silk shirts in a well-ventilated place to dry them since the ultraviolet ray can cause yellow stains and color fading to the shirts. Remember to turn the inside out when drying them.

- Fit ironing

Pure silk shirts get wrinkles easily so that you should iron them after each washing. Put the shirts on ironing board. Spray some water onto the shirts until it's almost dried off. Iron the shirts for 3 to 5 minutes and the iron should be controlled fewer than 150 centigrade. The iron cannot be put on the silk directly.

- Storage

After cleaning and ironing, the silk shirts should be stored in a clean closet. Hang the shirts on wooden hangers to avoid wrinkles.
