It is usually made of durable cloth, like canvas and nylon. There is one shoulder strap which winds around the chest, keeping the bag on the haunch part of body. Nowadays, messenger bags have been innovated and gradually become a fashion ornament especially for men.

A wide variety of messengers bags are found in the market now and the price range differs a lot. A common canvas messenger bag is around $25 to $45, but for a branded one, such as a Timbuk2 classic messenger bag, the common price is no less than $70 on Amazon.

The most popular brands for messenger bags include Timbuk2, JanSport, Crumpler and Fossil. Timbuk2 is notable for its three-panel, tri-color designed messenger bags and the prices are much cheaper than Crumpler. Though famous for backpacks, JanSport also makes reasonably priced and trendy messenger bags appealing to students preferably. Fossil is sophisticated in canvas messenger bags.
