How to switch off the airbag on the driver's seat?

Airbag play an important role in protecting the occupants in a car crash.
However, you might have to set it off when repairing or maintaining your car. Be sure to switch off the airbag system on the driver's side before removing any part around the steering wheel. Follow these steps to switch off the airbags safely and quickly.

1. Park you car and turn off the engine. Remember to take the key out of the ignition.

2. Make sure the battery is turned off and then disconnect the car's negative battery cable.

3. Wait 10 minutes or more to ensure the airbag's control module completely run out of power.

4. Find the engine bay fuse block which is always located on the right side of the engine compartment.

5. Open the compartment and remove the cover. Locate the airbag fuse. And then turn them off.

6. Remove the steering wheel and unhook the airbag from the wire.

7. Turn the ignition to the "ON" position to verify the airbag light is illuminated for about 30 seconds before turning off.

8. Turn the ignition back to the "OFF" position. Disconnect the ground cable of the battery.

9. Put the steering wheel column back in place.
