How to deal with luggage loss?

Nothing is worse than losing your luggage during your trip.
Do not get mad when it happens. Try to calm down since there are a couple of things you should do immediately. Keep in mind the following tips to alleviate stress when dealing with lost luggage.

1. Check every arrived bag patiently to make sure that your luggage is really lost.

2. Get the claim checks of your luggage and head for the luggage service office of your airline. What you should remember is that only the airline which loses your luggage would take your claim.

3. Give as more details of your lost luggage as possible to the airline, because the information you provide might be helpful for the airline to get your luggage back if it is transported to a wrong destination.

4. Fill out a lost luggage report in a baggage claim office. In case of any problems, try to get a copy of this report.

5. Give your contact number as well as your address to the staff who you report to. If your luggage is found, the airline would transport your luggage back to you according to the address you give them.

6. Claim for your missing luggage as soon as possible if the airline informs you that your luggage is lost.

7. Call the airline to get a claim form. It is advisable to attach a list of items you have packed in your lost luggage when filling in the claim form.

8. Be sure to fill out the claim form before the deadline.
