How much currency could you carry in pockets of carry-on bags?

People need to bring some pocket money with them when traveling.
However, there are strict regulations set by the Transportation Security Administration in terms of the amount of money allowed to carry with when travelers fly into or out of the United States. Notice the following information if you need to bring a large amount of money with you when traveling internationally.

TSA rules

According to the rules of the TSA, any amount of currency as well as other monetary instruments is not permitted to be transported from the United States to other foreign countries, or into the United States from other places.

When transporting currency or any other monetary instruments into or out of The US by any means (including by mail), you must report it to the U.S. Customs if the aggregate amount exceed 10,000 dollars.

If you fail to obey these rules, your monetary instruments would be forfeited and you have to face civil and criminal liability.

Monetary instruments mentioned above include:

- U.S. or any foreign coins and currency;

- Negotiable instruments including checks, orders, promissory notes;

- Securities or stock.

Items not included in monetary instruments:

- Warehouse receipts and bills of lading;

- Certain checks and money orders.
