Actually there is a trend to wear old looking boots among the younger generation. Young people might like vintage cowboy boots rather than new ones.

Tips on scuffing cowboy boots

Leather is very difficult to keep in good condition. However scuffing cowboy boots is also a tough thing.

- Use some harsh polish if you want to discolor your boots and using a conditioner less often would be helpful to make your boots old looking.

- Stubborn stains and folds are also features of old boots, so add some on your boots if possible.

- Stop cleaning the outside of them and put away your polish since cleaning with polish will let boots shiny.

Weakness of some materials

Different types of cowboy boots have different drawbacks and enemies, so it's important to treat them respectively.

- Cowhide cowboy boots are of good quality, but they are easy to loss luster. The only thing you need to do is never wipe out dust and dirt for them.

- The worst enemies of suede cowboy boots is mud, so just wear them out on rainy days.

- Exposure will cause the yellowing of cowboy boots made from snakeskin. Giving them some sunshine would be a good choice to scuff them up.

NOTE: Cowboy boots would be damaged if you try to scuff up them overly. Please make sure that you are not reducing their lifetime significantly.
