How to care for nylon clothes?

Nylon has been used in numerous garments, like jackets, shorts, track pants and hosiery etc.
The wide application on clothing is partly due to the special characteristics like variation of luster, durability and excellent abrasion resistance. Though nylon garments do not need delicate care, several things should get your attention to extend the life of your nylon clothes.

Keep away from dirt or stains

Most nylon clothes are made of nylon microfiber, which is lightweight and feels soft. But this kind of clothing tends to absorb dust and dirt easily. For winter clothes, you can use a vacuum to get rid of dust or dirt on a regular base to reduce the frequency of cleaning. Try to avoid stains, like oil, ink, paint, grease etc. If your nylon clothes get some stains, deal with them immediately.

Careful washing

- Before washing, spot-treat any stains on your nylon garments with special detergent.

- Check the washing instructions to see whether the garment can be machine washed.

- Use cold water setting and cycle for machine washing

- Put a certain amount of laundry detergent into the washing machine

- Put your nylon garment in the dryer and tumble dry on its lowest setting

Iron the garments

If there're any wrinkles on the nylon items after washing, iron them with special attention. Place a piece of clean cloth on an ironing board and then put the dried clothes on it. Set the iron to 120 - 130 centigrade.

Tips:

- It's to better to use a mesh bag when putting some delicate nylon items, such as lingerie and hosiery, into the washing machine.

Try hand-wash and drip dry if possible for more delicate nylon items as automatic machine washing and drying can cause some nubs on the nylon fabrics.
