What are the procedures to clean nylon watch straps?

Straps made of nylon are very durable and resist stretching.
If you're seeking a watch for daily use, a watch with nylon straps can be a great choice as they are very light and comfortable to wear. But nylon straps tend to trap dirt and stains since they are made with woven threads. Take it easy! Several procedures can help you get your nylon watch straps clean.

Step 1 Remove your nylon straps from the watch

To clean the straps thoroughly and avoid any extra damage to your watch, you need to remove nylon straps from the watch. It's very easy. All you need is a small screwdriver. Use it to push down the spring bar from the lug of the watch chase from both sides.

Step 2 Prepare a container of dilution

Fill a container with warm water and then add some laundry detergent into the water. Use your finger to fully mix the dilution.

Step 3 Wash the nylon straps

First put the nylon straps into the dilution. Leave enough time to let the soapy water fully dissolve the dirt and stains on the strap. Then use a soft toothbrush to scrub your nylon straps. Pay attention to the seams as dirt tends to accumulate there. Remember not to scrub the straps with too much force, which can cause possible damage to your straps.

After removing any stains or dirt, rinse the straps in clean water. Repeat the process until the soapy water has been washed off completely.

Step 4 Dry the straps

After taking the straps out of water, cover the straps with a soft clean cloth to absorb excess water. Hang the straps in a well-ventilated area and let them air dry completely.

Step 5 Reattach the straps to your watch

Make sure your straps are totally dry before reattaching them to your watch. Recall the steps for removing the straps. Follow the same instructions to insert the spring bar into your watch straps.
