What are features of scrub uniforms?

Medical staff members are required to wear scrubs in the hospitals.
For sanitary and professional reasons, scrubs need to meet the standard for medical practice. They consist of the standard shirts & pants or skirts. The purpose of scrubs is to create uniformity and to make medical staff like nurses identifiable to patients. Although these scrubs come in a variety of colors and designs, they need to satisfy these essential features.

Materials - Easy care and durable, scrubs are generally made of cotton or a combination of polyester and cotton.

Designs & Patterns - Casual and relaxed, scrubs have fewer or no accessories including buttons and zippers. But they can come in a variety of patterns like cartoon characters, logos and flowers. Scrub shirts typically have no collars.

Colors - Scrubs come in various colors like black, water blue and white. And the main colors are white, pink and green. Different colors may exist for different departments. For instance, nurses in pediatrics department always were scrubs in pink.

Plus: Scrubs consist of shirts and pants or skirts, which should be of the same color.

Size - Scrubs should fit well without being too tight or too baggy, because this will affect their work and performance. But scrub pants are often loose-fitting.

Brands - Scrubs uniforms are available in many brands including Dickies, Cherokee, White Swan, Peaches, etc.

Considerations

- Wearing jewelry is not permitted for hospital staff, as this will affect the operation of machines.

- Open-toe shoes or sandals are not allowed to wear. Many hospitals require flat and white shoes.
