Selecting a reliable backpack for your tour is never an easy job.
Your entire tour will depend on it. If you are green hands, you really have some serious homework to do before heading for the stores. For last-minute shoppers, just go over the following questions when buying your pack.

Is the backpack waterproof?

When you're on tour, chances are you might encounter drizzles or pour downs now and then. A waterproof backpack would be necessary to protect your expensive electronics and other gear. Getting a 100% waterproof backpack or a backpack with waterproof compartments is up to you. Before closing a deal, some details with openings such as zippers and seams should be checked carefully.

Is the backpack internal framed?

An internal frame backpack is the smartest option for travel.
The internal frame allows the backpack to fit closely to your back, and weights can be shifted in this way. When performing activities with body movements, internal frame backpacks are desirable. A perfectly-fit pack would not move or bounce around with every step.

Does it comfortable to wear when heavily loaded?

A good travel backpack should still feel comfortable when it's loaded with over 50 pounds. You can try on the pack at store. If you find anywhere poking, the pack is not likely to be competent for a long-distance trip. Check if the pack has a waist belt or hipbelt. Weight can be shifted from your shoulders to hips through the belts.
