It can be really frustrating that your baggage do not arrive at your destination upon appointed time.
With passengers' benefit in mind, United Airlines strives to implement a secure, effective baggage policy. To make your trip hassle-free, we'd like to inform you how to get help from United Airlines with post-trip baggage concerns.

Delayed or Damaged Baggage

According to United Airlines baggage policy, any missing or delayed baggage must be reported within 24 hours. So passengers are supposed to report their lost baggage to the United Baggage Agents as soon as possible. They can be found at the claim area. United Airlines will make every effort to find your missing property.

If they find nothing after 3 days, owner of lost property should submit the Baggage Tracing/Claim Form to the Central Baggage Service of United Airlines. The mailing address is P.O. Box 66140, Chicago, IL 60666-0140. Full description of your lost property should be covered in the Baggage Claim.

What if your bag has been found but items are missing or damaged? Take it easy. United Airlines will accept your Missing Property claim and Damage Claim and cover all your verifiable and actual loss.
Interim Expense claim can be requested if you ask for reimbursement of related expenses. Your request should be submitted within 45 days, along with baggage claim checks, your delayed baggage report, a copy of your ticket receipt and other related materials.

For domestic travel, United Airlines' established baggage limits of liability are in line with the principles of U.S. Department of Transportation. For international travels, the limits of liability are set on the basis of the Montreal Convention. Track Your Report or Claim

After claiming a report with United Airlines' Baggage Services, you can track your baggage claim online at the official website of United Airlines. All you need is to input your last name and the eight character claim check number. It's the easiest way to get most up-to-dates info about your baggage claim.

United Airlines' baggage information kiosks can be found in all major airports throughout the country including New York - LaGuardia, Washington - Dulles, Chicago - O'Hare, Dallas-Fort Worth and many more.
