Material

Aluminum, polycarbonate, ABS and polypropylene are the common materials for hardside luggage, among which aluminum has long been used in the manufacturing of hardside luggage and is said to be the best material so far. As mid-range material for luggage, polycarbonate shares many characteristics with aluminum, but it gains more popularity among young generations since it boasts a wider variety of colors and patterns than aluminum, and much lighter too. ABS is very light and cheap but it's not as durable as other materials.

Weight

Luggage without good coatings is prone to dent and scratch, so you need to be careful about this when purchasing.

Inside Structure

Spartan interior design might be popular in the past, but modern people prefer their luggage to be practical as well as charming. Don't believe the salesperson when he/she announces that the design of a hard-side suitcase is classic, since that means it is plain with no frills.
