• Maximum dimensions of carry-on luggage: 45 linear inches( length + height + width)

• Maximum weight of your baggage: 18kg

Your carry-on item can include the following things.

1. Gel, Liquid and Aerosol Items

If you have to take these items aboard, you need to keep them in a quart-sized (7.5*8), clear plastic zip-top bag. For items which are greater than 3.4 ounces, they can be taken on board. But they should be declared to the TSA at the security checkpoint for screening check.

2. Laptops or Computers

As long as your laptop bag meets the checkpoint friendly standards, you can put your laptop in it and take it on board directly. The checkpoint friendly standards include: no pockets on the inside or outside of the laptop-only section; the inside of the bag has no metal snaps, buckles and zippers; the bag features a designed laptop-only section; nothing packed in the laptop-only section; the laptop-only section can unfold to lay flat on the X-ray belt completely.

3. Personal Items

When you take a flight, you can not avoid many personal items, such as, a shoulder bag or a backpack. But you should not put any battery operated personal air-purifying devices in your bags. Apart from that, the following things should be removed from your bags. But they can be taken onboard free of charge.

• Umbrella

• Overcoat

• A limited amount of merchandise in the airport

• Camera

• Assistive devices

• Diaper bag

• A collapsible wheelchair

• Pet carrier

Note: In order to speed up your security checking, you had better keep all your packages unwrapped, because your bags and packages are subjected to careful inspection.

Checked baggage information

If your seat is in the economy class, your checked baggage should meet the following size.

• Maximum Dimensions: 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height)

• Maximum Weight: 50 lb/23 kg

OnePass Elite Members traveling in economy class. If you are a member of them, you can ship your baggage which meets the following size.

• Free Checked Baggage Allowance: 2 Pieces

• Maximum Dimensions for each bag: 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height)

• Maximum Weight for each bag: 70 lb/32 kg

Passengers who are in the first, BussinessFirst and international Business class can enjoy more benefits for their checked baggage.

• Free Checked Baggage Allowance: 3 Pieces

• Maximum Dimensions for each bag: 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height)

• Maximum Weight for each bag: 70 lb/32 kg

How Much Shall I Pay for My Baggage?

Having discussed above, all the carry-on items should be stowed under the seat in front of you or in the overhead bin. If your personal items that you want to take onboard exceed the carry-on baggage size or allowance requirements, they will be checked to your destination. According to their actual size and weight, you may be subject to applicable checked baggage fees.

What shall I pay for my checked bags? Generally, the customers' bags will be measured by length, width and height. Any piece which is over the baggage allowance will be charged with additional fees. Continental Airlines will not accept more than 4 bags per customer. If your bags are not accepted as checked baggage because they are oversized or overweighed, you had better choose some other transportation tool for your travel.

People who are planning to fly to Canada, Bahamas, Mexico, Caribbean as well as the United States can refer to the following charging standard.

1. For Additional baggage: Travelers with checked baggage in excess of the baggage allowance will be charged $150. As for the overweighed or oversized parts, they will be charged per piece.

2. For overweight baggage: Travelers who fly to Canada, Bahamas, Mexico, Caribbean as well as the United States with checked baggage between 23kg and 32kg will be charged $100 per piece. If the weight of the bags is between 32kg and 45kg, they will be charged at least $200 per piece. Any bags exceeding 45kg will not be accepted as checked baggage.

3. For oversized baggage: Traveler whose baggage is larger than 62 linear inches will be charged $200 per piece.

Travelers to or from transpacific and transatlantic destination from USA or Canada can refer to the charging standards below.

1. For additional baggage: If your destination is among the places mentioned above, you have to pay for your additional baggage, say $200 per piece.

2. For overweight baggage: There is a privilege for a peculiar group of people who can take baggage within 32kg. Usually, common passengers can only take 23kg. if you are among people listed below, you will be able to enjoy that privilege.

• Star Gold members, such as, Gold Elite members and Continental Platinum

• All customers traveling to or from Brazil

• Passengers ticketed and confirmed in BusinessFirst, Latin Business, First Class, or Business Class at time of baggage check-in

• U.S. military dependents traveling with military personnel, and without military personnel when on military business

• Active U.S. military personnel

If you are not one of them, you need to pay $200 for your baggage whose weight is between 23kg and 32kg. For baggage exceeding 32kg but less than 54kg, passengers should pay $400 per piece.

3. For oversized baggage: Baggage between 157cm and 292cm will be charged at the rate of $200 per piece. If your baggage is larger than 292cm, it will not be accepted as checked baggage.

Notice: All the checked bags will be charged with bag fees. For a trip which includes more than one connection, baggage will be checked at the final destination. The fee for checking a bag from your departure place to your destination will apply. If your travel includes a stopover, your baggage will be checked to your stopover point in which you need to collect your bags. When you restart your journey, you need to check your bags again and subject to applicable fees from the new point of check-in to your destination.
