At Lima, Peru (LIM), you need to get there 75 minutes before the flight takes off. If your departure airport is not mentioned above, you only need to arrive at the airport an hour prior to the flight departure time.

What Shall I Do with My Baggage?

Carry-on baggage: Passengers who are considering taking a flight from United Airlines are able to carry on one bag and one personal item including a back bag, a shoulder bag, a laptop bag or a briefcase onboard. But all the things they take on the flight have to be through the security checking point and fit in the overhead bin or under their seat. If the baggage can not be safely stowed on the flight, it may be sent to its host's destination as checked baggage. The standard size for your carry-on bag is 9 * 14 * 22 inches (23 * 35 * 56cm).

Note: If there are some liquids, gels or aerosols in your bag, you need to put them into a clear, liter-sized plastic bag which has a container of 100ml or less. The following items are not counted toward your one bag and one personal item limit. But they can be taken onboard free of charge.

Checked baggage: What shall I do if my baggage exceeds the dimension and weight limit?Many people, especially those international travelers, may ask such a question. • Maximum Weight: 50 lb/23 kg total

• Maximum Size: 62 linear inches/158 cm

• First checked bag: $25 when paid at the airport / $20 when pre-paid using EasyCheck-in Online® at United.com within 24 hours of your flight

• Second checked bag: $35 when paid at the airport / $30 when pre-paid using EasyCheck-in Online® at United.com within 24 hours of your flight

How Much Money Will I Pay for my Baggage?

Just as what we have mentioned above, all the carry-on bags should meet the United Airlines' baggage requirements. If you have too many things to carry on your flight, you need to let them checked. Bags fees apply at any point where bags are checked. Still, some passengers can enjoy a privilege of exempting from the checked baggage fees.

• People traveling in United First or United Business: 2 checked bags whose total weight should be less than 46kg.

• Gold ServicesSM, Premier Executive, Mileage Plus 1K or Premier member: 3 checked bags with maximum 32kg each.

• Us military personal, Star Alliance Gold or Silver member: 3 checked bags with maximum 32kg and 292cm each.

Do you have an overweight checked baggage? For all the economy class passengers, the overweight baggage fees will be charged if their bags' weight is between 51 and 99 lb as well. For Global ServicesSM, 1K®, Premier Executive®, and Star Alliance® Gold passengers, they will also be charged as long as their baggage reach 71-99 lb. The fee for both of groups is the same - $100 per bag. If your bag is more than 45kg, it will not be accepted as checked baggage.

What about my oversized baggage? Fee for any bag whose size is between 63 and 115 linear inches is $100 per bag. Active military personnel may check as many as 3 bags, and each of them should be within overall dimensions of up to 115 linear inches. Bags with a single dimension exceeding 62 inches or overall dimensions more than 115 linear inches will not be accepted.

Plus:For baggage which is both oversized and overweighed, it will be charged with double fees.

I have more than 4 checked bags, how much money need I pay? Usually, passengers in economy class are allowed to have 3 to 4 checked bags. While first class passengers are permitted to check 4 to 5 bags. If your bags exceed the amount, you need to pay $100 per extra bag.
