An upright is probably the most widely used luggage case.
1. Size
An upright comes in various sizes, from which you can pick one catering for your need. Due to the distinct feature of upright, a large sized one is recommended here.
Generally speaking, an upright only consists of one main compartment. However, today's manufacturers bring forward designs on details to compensate this disadvantage. For instance, some uprights have front pockets, others have interior side pockets, and still others have crisscross tie tapes. All of those will help to hold the items in order.
2. Material
Since upright is used in traveling as container with great capacity, it should be made of firm and durable materials. Polypropylene shell is always a good choice for its durability and scuff resistance. Besides, tough ABS shell and strong magnesium frame are also quite impressive.
3. Safety
Safety must be your first concern when you are on a trip. The same goes to choosing an upright. So, pay extra attention to the safety devices. You are recommended to choose such an upright with built-in travel sentry combination locks, which are accepted by TSA at airports nationwide. Also, you can choose one with a push-button locking handle system, or 3 ski-boot type latches. The former allows easy one-hand operation, and the latter ensures secure closure.
