I. What does an umbrella do for your travel?
Looking for a shelter to hide from the rain? Need to keep the sunshine off your skin?
A travel expert will always recommend an umbrella. It takes little space, but can be quite helpful in bad weather. In the market, umbrellas are provided with a wide range of options in different sizes, weights, designs and colors.

II. Types of personal umbrellas
Hundreds of types of umbrellas are available so it is not possible to name all of them in one breath. In terms of personal umbrellas, generally speaking, they are traditional umbrellas, sun umbrellas and modern umbrellas. Traditional umbrellas or light weight umbrellas, made of traditional materials, keep you dry and comfortable in rainy days. In some European countries, many people choose traditional umbrellas, because the weather is misty and rainy. While in the sunny regions or on the sunny days, many women prefer sun umbrellas with delicate patterns and elegant styles to protect the skin from excessive harmful sunrays. As for the modern umbrellas, they are usually very expensive and created by the famous designers. With their unique styles and good quality, they are usually purchased by the persons in the elite circle as a label of taste and personality. People living or traveling in the tropical areas had better choose wider and stronger umbrellas instead of the compact umbrellas to protect them from heavy rains and strong sunrays.

III. Buying tips
1. Size
Before your purchase, always consider how much shade you need. The actual needs will decide the size of umbrella. For example, if you are traveling in a sunny area and don't want a suntan in face, then the best one is the hat umbrella that wears like a hat and offers shade for face. If you are planning to spend a weekend at rainy area with your family, choose a larger size which can offer a shade for a whole table. How much shade you will receive is determined by the shade diameter of an umbrella.

2. Fabric
Choose quality, durable materials that can withstand harsh weather conditions. Determine what kind of weather your umbrella will need to resist. If you travel in a mild area and just want to keep an umbrella in case of rain and wind, then a thinner, less expensive fabric, such as polyester, might easily help you out. However, if your umbrella is going to resist sunshine, you may need a more durable fabric such as sunbrella. These sun umbrellas can effectively keep off the Sun's harmful UVA and UVB rays, and they are great for the rain too!

3. Handles
Handles determine how your umbrella is unfolded and folded, and the way you hold your umbrella. It is also the main support piece for your umbrella. Choose a tough base with an easy-to-unfold design. You can try to make sure it fits your hand and is comfortable to hold. Within the handles, look for push-button design. The shaft automatically extends to its full length for easy opening at the push of a button, and this kind of push design is also easy for packing.

4. Shaft
When buying the non-telescoping umbrellas, you'd better make sure that the shaft length is suitable and convenient for you. You can try it by putting the umbrella standing upright on the ground. If one end of the umbrella can reach your wrist, it can protect you from rain better than those that can not.
