Dakota is a division of Tumi Luggage. When designing Dakota luggage, some of the following features are considered to help make each piece versatile and multi-functional:

streamlining, expandability, lightweight, durability, easy to use and organize, understated sophistication, reliability, and high performance. Dakota luggage cover a range of bags, including wheeled carry-on bags, wheeled packing cases, soft luggage, and business cases in a variety of sizes to suit each customer.

Each piece of Dakota Luggage is made from ultra-tough ballistic weave nylon and features exclusively functional details-including aircraft-grade aluminum telescoping handles and super-strong, big sized premium wheels-that make getting there a little easier. Some of the outstanding characteristics include double expansion (from both the front pocket and the main body of the bag, making it possible to adjust the size and function of each bag to fit a variety of itineraries); tie down pockets; ticket pockets; add-a-bag sleeves and pockets allowing extra bags to be attached to the handle; and bottom handles which make it easier to lift pieces into overhead compartments. Also worth noting on the multiple expansion series is the 'z-pack organizer'. It is a packing system that folds garments in a Z shape. Besides, the beauty of Dakota MTX lies in that even when a case is fully expanded; it maintains its sophisticated, streamlined look.
