Congratulations on your purchase of this book!

We see heated discussions on laptops, games, music and movies online. But there's rarely a site or community dedicated to sharing luggage shoppers and users experience. Most people still think purchasing luggage as a no-brainer, shop-and-run thingy as if there can't be anything wrong with the bag they just bought.

But as a frequent traveler myself, I can assure you it's not that simple. Bags are like computers. Innovations happen everyday, with new technology applied and new specialty bags invented. Between price and new features, you have to decide based on solid facts whether a fancy new design is worth your investment.

As a programmer analyst traveling abroad a lot, I learned the hard way that details cannot be overlooked when picking a piece on board. Airline carry-on regulations may differ so that size and weight issues should always top your concerns when choosing a carry-on piece. According to the Ponemon Institute, more than 10,000 laptops are reported lost at the 36 largest airports in the US each week and, two of these lost big-priced notebooks used to belong to me. That forced me to learn how to find laptop cases with highest level of security.

Also as a father who just sent his kid to university, I have searched the web upside down, suckling hints and signs from thousands of user comments, just to look for a perfect balance between bag's capacity and usability.

You see, it is not simple to buy a bag at all, but it should be. That's the driving reason I wrote this book. In reference to tons of online resources and my personal experience, it's my ultimate wish that this book can make luggage shopping for the first time as pleasant as a breeze.
